The Midday Movie and the History of Australian Painting

Channel 7’s Midday Movie was broadcast into the performance space where Campbell reclined with her head in a large woven basket by the artist, Paul Saint. During the commercial breaks, she muted the sound and in the manner of an exhibition audio-guide, recited a series of prepared scripts on iconic examples of Australian landscape painting which together form the received history of Australian painting.
